Stolen Ice Cream

Coming into freshman year of college, we heard many legendary stories. We heard the story of Andrew who stole a security guard's hat. We heard the story of Amy, Therese, and Ryan who hid out in the mail room in the Student Center when it was closing for the night and spent the night until morning. And we heard the story of the boys frisbee team who stole a three gallon ice cream from the cafeteria. Legendary. And that speaks my language.

Now, we heard about the story, but who knows if it's true? So we had to make a story that we knew was true, and that required us to take on that role. The culprits included me, Miranda, Ashley, Grace, and Amelia. We didn't know when we were going to do it, though.

One day, us ladies were at frisbee practice and decided to have a girls spaghetti dinner and movie night. After practice, we went to the cafeteria to eat some lunch. And there it was. The Coffee Carmel ice cream. *Choir of angels and a spotlight.* A fresh 3 gallon. All, but a couple scoops, remained. And perfect timing. We had wanted to steal one and how perfect would it be to bring it to girl's night.

Now, this is something I have to clear up. I am using words like 'culprit' and 'steal,' but I have talked myself out of believing that this is a crime. And that is because we have already paid a ridiculous amount for our meal plan. And once you swipe in, it's 'all you can eat.' Therefore, it is not stealing, and I don't have to feel guilty and don't need anyone to think I am a thief. Okay. Glad we got that cleared up. Back to the story...

I had to leave the cafeteria to go get my yellow backpack (so technically, this ice cream cost me two swipes). It was big enough to hold all three gallons of goodness. So we made a plan. Let me further explain what we are looking at -- the ice cream station is self serve of six flavors in tubs, just like an ice cream shop. Okay, so I walked over with the girls. Amelia and Miranda were on the lookout, standing on both sides of me, and Grace stood right by me, holding my bag open, while I grabbed the tub. We placed it in, zipped it up, and left. Amelia ran ahead to get the getaway van, and we left the scene.

That night, there were many of us ladies, feasting on ice cream until we were sick. Man. Three gallons is a lot of ice cream. We wanted to eat all of it to further justifying taking the whole tub, but we couldn't!

So, after the movie, we carried the tub and about twenty plastic spoons into the Student Center and walked up to people and shared the ice cream with them. See, a happy ending!
